HelpWantedSignThe mission statement of Metro Life Church reminds us that we are a community bent on reflecting the glory of God by loving Jesus, growing to be more like Him, and sharing what He’s done for us. When we think of the church, we often focus on the adults, but our children are just as much a part of this local body as we adults are, and therein lies the challenge. How do we, as a church come along side of parents to teach and equip those precious souls so that they grow to love Jesus, to be like Him, and to share His faithfulness to them?

Well, MLC Children’s Ministry—Truth Quest— needs YOU! We have so many exciting plans for the future of Truth Quest, and all we need to see these ideas unfold into reality is faithful parents and volunteers with passion to love and serve these kiddos! Our goal is to build a dynamic, engaging program which attracts our children. Imagine kids begging Mom and Dad to let them go to Truth Quest on Sundays! Imagine children singing and worshipping together, learning about their savior, and growing in His likeness! Now, imagine yourself filling a role. Are you a gifted teacher? A skilled worship leader? Administrator? Perhaps you could help with check in/check out each week or assist a lead teacher?

Frederick Douglass, the famous abolitionist and statesman once noted, "It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.” Well, we know our God is in the business of repairing broken men, women, and children, but we can never underestimate the dividends of the Word of God in the lives of our children. Won’t you consider how you might serve and help us build a strong foundation for the next generation of Metro Life Church?

Here are the areas of service...
  • Admin: Handles check in of teachers/assistants, answers any questions for teachers or assistants, finding subs if needed, moving teachers around if necessary, adding numbers to the schedule from classes
  • Lead Teachers: Teach class and go through assigned lessons, provide leadership in the class area and direction to assistants
  • Classroom Assistant: Assistant teacher in making snacks, handling bathroom breaks, assisting kids with crafts, etc.
  • Curriculum Coordinator: Makes sure copies are made for each month including coloring sheets and lesson plans, placed in office and in appropriate folders for teachers, or in classrooms
  • Check In/Out: Arrive at 9:30 ready to check in children, leave for service when no more people are checking in, come back during break for a few minutes and then at the end for check out (setup and strike the computers)
  • Trail Guides: Come to the CM area after music ends (before break) then right as prayer is starting (at the end of the service), line up and be ready to retrieve children from classes as quickly as possible and stay with them until the kids are completely checked out and to their parents
