Thanksgiving

I am thankful for November and that somebody out there decided to make it a month dedicated to thankfulness. Sometimes I have found myself so busy during November and December that I lose sight of that. I’ve decided that I need to add something to my mindset for this month. That something is making sure that I take time to be still and think about God.

We are coming into what is for most of us the busiest season of the year. It is easy to get caught up in lists and preparations and festivities and put God on the back burner behind the mashed potatoes and the gravy. Let’s purpose to put him in the center of everything we are doing, and let’s start with taking time to be with him. It is amazing what a few quiet moments with God can do for your outlook.

Psalm 46:10 – “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

As we ladies get ready for the big feast, let’s remember to put on gratefulness. Take a few moments to simply be still with Jesus. Then allow gratefulness to well up in us to overflow to everyone we meet.

There is someone I am very thankful for, and I think I can speak for the ladies of Metro Life Church – Emily Jessee. Thank you, Emily, for how you have carried the Women’s Ministry of our church. You have latched hold of the vision that God put in your heart and served us well. I hope you don’t mind being singled out this Thanksgiving as someone we can emulate in the Lord. Thank you for how you have ministered to so many of us and for all of the opportunities that you have launched for fellowship and relationship building. You are loved!

Happy Thanksgiving,

Until we meet again,

Bonnie Anderson
