Happy Friday! Are you enjoying your weekly Table Talk with Shirley? I know I am. Today she shares with us a secret...a secret PLACE, that is.

The Secret Place

The scriptures teach us that our God is a triune Being expressing themselves as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Moving as One in complete harmony and agreement as they rule and reign over all they created.

In Genesis 1:26-27 it is written;"God said, Let Us (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the (tame) beasts, and over all the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth. So, God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.". Amplified Bible.

In the image of God, men and women were created triune beings...body, soul, and spirit.

Our bodies are the containers for our soul and spirit. A healthy body does not function voluntarily, but serves as a vehicle for carrying out the desires and wishes of the soul which dwells in the brain. In our souls we find personality, emotions and will. Until we are "born again" our souls sit in the driver's seat and make all of our decisions. The body may cry out, "I'm hungry!" but is powerless to feed itself until the soul allows it to move and eat the food the soul chooses for it. The body may say, "I'm tired!", but cannot rest until the soul gives permission to stop it's activity. In order to enjoy the life it has been given, body and soul are dependent on one another. Body and soul working together also interact with other people who also are created "body and soul" and this is where conflict begins. Wills clash, tempers flare and both body and soul experience pain.

But, in the "born again" person, there is a place created by God for a "meeting place" and this is where the spirit of man and the Spirit of God connect.

In the wilderness, God commanded Moses to erect a tent of meeting, outside the camp, that would serve as a place of undistracted fellowship between Moses and his God. However, our Jesus has created a greater place of meeting with our God through His sacrifice and our atonement. He has opened up in us and quickened (made alive) our spirit. This is where He chooses to dwell...in the "secret place".

"Jesus answered, If a person (really) loves Me, he will keep My word (obey My teaching); and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home (abode, special dwelling place) with him." John 14:23

"Anyone who confesses (acknowledges, owns) that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides (lives, makes His home) in him and he (abides, lives, makes his home) in God." 1John 4:15 (Amplified Bible)

Each morning as our body wakes up and our soul focuses on the day, we need to move into our spirit and greet our God...to come into the "secret place"--that place created just for you and your God. It is in the "secret place" that you (body, soul, and spirit) will find the will of God for your day, the "hidden manna" that will strengthen you, and the infilling of His love that will carry you through whatever the world presents.

He calls to you, "Come away, My Beloved...seek all that I Am...and close the door, on everyone and everything else, behind you."
