Just A Cup

my cup overflows_wide_t_ntSpill it out. Use it up. Every drop.

Otherwise, you're just a cup.

You might be embossed with intricate designs, stained a bright shade with purest dye, or simply baked and left bare. You might be the finest of china or rough earthenware clay. Either way, if you sit there on the shelf, it doesn't matter what or why you are. You're just a cup.

But I'm saving it for something good, you might say. Letting it age until I know for sure it's ready.

Spill it out, anyway. Jesus turned water into wine.

But if I use it all now, I'll be no good later. I won't have any left when He needs it.

Use it up. Lax muscles grow weak. You have to use them to build them.

But you don't understand -- if I use it, it's gone.

Only if you don't use every. drop.

You're just a cup. Someday you'll break, shatter, and the pieces left behind are going to be swept out. Gone forever. Whatever you were filled with will be gone with you. Wasted.

Pour it out while you can -- He will fill you back up. He promises to. So use it all.

Otherwise, you're just a cup.

"Treasure in Jars of Clay

[7] But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us."

(2 Corinthians 4:7 ESV)
