How you can participate in the City of Casselberry Halloween Spooktoberfest

Throughout our history we’ve enjoyed celebrating the Autumnal season together through events like Fall festivals, community outreaches, etc. This year was shaping up to be like so many we’ve previously enjoyed as we were planning for a Trunk-or-Treat style event.

That was, until a few weeks ago when I had the opportunity to meet with the event planners for the City of Casselberry. In that meeting we were presented with the opportunity to join the efforts of a city-wide event already in the works for the exact same time frame.

Why This Event?

Don’t get me wrong; I love inviting guests to our property, I love seeing the field full of people and passers-by seeing life happening together here at the church building… but, I love this community even more. We’ve been presented a chance to lay aside our own plans to make an event in our city even better by our participation, and we’re going to go for it for the honor and glory of Jesus’ Name!

What is the event?

Our city is planning the Casselberry Spooktoberfest (City's Official Event Website) filled with things like: a not too scary costumes, Ghost DJ & Ghoul Dance Party and a costume contest that’s sure to feature wizards, witches and superheroes. It will be held at Secret Lake Park on Saturday, October 31st from 5pm-9pm.

How can we get involved?

We’re going to need your help in multiple areas which we will update as we finalize the plans with the city in the days ahead, more than anything, we’d like to see a strong representation from our church not only in service but attending the event.

We will also begind accepting Candy Donations (collected in our lobby in the weeks leading up to this event) this Sunday, Oct 11th so please add a bag to your next trip to the grocery store.

I’m grateful for Rhonda Thomas who is working tirelessly behind the scenes to make our city better; she’s such a gift to our church!

You can contact Rhonda directly to get involved or by contacting my assistant Allison Gilland for additional details.

I’m looking forward to serving our city together on the 31st!
